In 2015, Jeremy Allen took up his Big Kahuna Imagineering scholarship at NIDA and so far we’ve heard exciting reports about his progress. Along with his set designs, billed as having ‘enormous theatrical potential’, Jeremy has been making waves with some exciting costume designs. NIDA’s undergraduates present their productions twice a year (in June and October), and Jeremy’s creative outputs will be showcased at June’s production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
Jeremy also had this to say in a recent letter to Big Kahuna: “The financial assistance is hugely appreciated, especially this year. Third-year design is extremely tough for all of us, [but] the sheer amount of time we spend at the school is testament to how much we genuinely love what we do. Being able to study here so one day we can make this our profession is a huge honour.”
Actually Jeremy, it’s an honour for us too. With such glowing words about the course and the institution, we can only say once again how proud we are to associate with Australia’s most respected incubator for stage arts. We’ll have more updates on Mr Allen’s studies later this year.
